A day, at an international level, within the Di-SIGNARE project, certainly important for students, operators, but also for the city; for this reason I thank Chris Bangle for his Lectio Magistralis and I wish for a renewed collaboration with the University, specifically with the Department of Architecture and Design_DAD Polytechnic School of Engineering Architecture of Genoa, which organized this meeting. A day of study that is certainly also important for the Municipality, which is the body in charge of planning, managing and developing the urban area and its services. Actions, those under discussion, which are poured into all the cultural, economic and tourist related activities of the city as also established by the "code of cultural heritage and landscape". Colors and design represent the basis for the enhancement and conservation of our architectural assets, partly recognized by UNESCO and home to some of our prestigious museums, but also of most of our territory. In fact, we cannot forget some areas of the city, in particular those that experienced the industrial development of the 60s and 70s, while retaining important historical complexes within them. Among these also those brought to attention by the tragedy of the Morandi bridge, which put the spotlight on the daily life of these Genoese neighborhoods, for which we are working with the aim of improving the livability and aesthetics of these areas, thanks also to new artistic forms such as graffiti or even new routes organized around the city's fortifications.
I therefore thank all the organizers of this important study day which will certainly lead to new ideas and perspectives for the decorum of Genoa.
